Trip to Ikea

The trip to Ikea with my mum and dad was so much fun!  When we first got there we ate an early lunch and then took off around the place.  My mum had me crackin up most of the day with how much she loved Ikea and was shocked with all of the prices for things.

I planned on getting all of the items I needed for the mud room and office, but since we haven't been able to narrow it down for the exact cabinets we want or the layout we want to go with, I just got a few of the items I was shore I wanted.

Most of the trip involved helping my parents pick out and purchase the things they needed for their dining room and office and we ended up coming home with two truck loads of things.

Here are a few of the rooms and items that I thought were nice...

A more feminine space with the gray toned woods and pink accents.

My mum enjoying her new Ektorp Tulsta Chair for her office.

I am dying to get my hands on this gray Ektorp Sofa for our living room.  We are going to eventually put our white L shaped sofa in the basement and I would love something that is darker with a slipcovered material.   Don't worry Ektorp Sofa, I will be back...

I thought this was a great little piece of art that anyone can create to go with their décor.  Just paint the backing whichever color you prefer and add some cardstock to match your color scheme and there you go!

I loved this milk jug for a kitchen counter!  Add some fresh flowers and that's really all you would need to finish off the island without having it look cluttered.

My mum loved the look of the linen shade, so we went ahead and picked one up to go in her dining room since her current light fixture doesn't really go well with the feel of the room.

And she picked up one of these cutie patuties to go in the center of her soon to be painted round espresso dining table.  At only $15 for a large with a little patina is a great deal!

I really love the staggered look with the grayish glass tile for a backsplash!

To follow the design board I created, my mum and dad purchased some of the items off the list...
